Benilde Senior High School strands open next academic year
The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) is set to open its very own Benilde Senior High School, effective Academic Year 2021 to 2022.
Students will be guided in their transition to college under the mentorship of licensed, experienced, practicing educators and industry leaders and movers.
All Benilde SHS tracks – Accountancy and Business Management; Arts and Design; Technical, Vocational, and Livelihood (TVL) Culinary; TVL Hospitality; TVL Tourism Management; and General Academic Strand – these serve as a head start to respective college degree programs.
The Accountancy and Business Management Strand, equips students with fundamentals in International Business Management through modern systems and technologies. It is ideal for those interested in Export Management, Human Resources Management, Computer Applications or Business Intelligence and Analytics.
The Arts and Design Strand centers on visuals, specifically in digital and media arts. Creative and artistic processes, from conceptualization to hands-on art making, art production to post-production and exhibition, will be key for the Multimedia Arts, Animation, Photography or Digital Filmmaking Programs.
The General Academic Strand, which leans towards the Humanities and Social Sciences, will encourage critical thinking and a widened perspective on the structure of society. Finding solutions to political, economic and social problems on the local and global levels, students will be ready to pursue degrees in Diplomacy and International Affairs and Governance and Public Affairs.
Specializing in Commercial Cookery, the TVL Culinary Strand equips basic culinary and food preparation skills for various clienteles. It is best for those who wish to take Culinary Arts with its complete line-up of subjects, that range from kitchen management skills and finance, costing to entrepreneurship.
The TVL-Hospitality Management Strand is ideal for those with goals of becoming hospitality industry professionals. It covers Hotel Operations, Food and Beverage Services and Tourism Promotions Services, as it combines theory and practice to provide a global perspective of hotel and restaurant operations.
The TVL-Tourism Management Strand specializes in Attractions and Theme Parks, Tourism Promotions Services, Local Guiding Services and Travel Services. It focuses on the social, cultural and economic phenomenon of tourism.
Benilde SHS students who finish the strands maintaining a minimum grade requirement will have seamless entry in the college’s undergraduate programs.
Those who wish to pursue advanced certification or diplomas may likewise opt to enroll in the vast number of courses available in their School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPaCE).
To ensure the safety of the Benildean community amid the pandemic, Benilde SHS will initially be delivered on full online modality through BigSky Benilde, the college’s official Integrated Learning Platform.
The students will have access to DLS-CSB’s facilities, campuses and the wide array of online academic resources available at the multimedia library of Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center (LRC).
The institution welcomes students with special learning needs and have dedicated offices that provide support and services.
Application period is from Monday, February 15 to Friday, April 30, 2021.
Benilde SHS will follow the school calendar’s trimestral schedule. Classes are slated to begin on August or September.
