“Bound Within” explores the emotional journey of self-identity, body image, and societal pressures, offering unique pieces that empower wearers to embrace their own skin. The goal of this collection is to visually express the tension between being trapped by skin insecurities and the freedom that comes from embracing one’s true self. At its core, the theme reflects the duality of skin—serving both as armor and as a prison.

Royse Anne Caburian is a fashion designer specializing in womenswear, where she expresses her creativity through draping and textile experimentation. Her stories stem from personal emotions and the human experiences of vulnerability, self-perception, and transformation. With every project, she challenges herself to create designs that reflect depth and individuality. She enjoys working with lightweight fabrics and exploring fabric manipulation techniques such as appliqué to bring her ideas to life.

Her brand, Royse’ Arc, intertwines her initials with the word “arc,” meaning story—symbolizing a continuous journey of growth and self-discovery through fashion that empowers women through ready-to-wear pieces reflecting self-love, transformation, and personal expression.

The most challenging part of designing this collection was figuring out how to bring my vision to life, from conducting research to discovering which techniques and fabric manipulations worked best. Pushing through these challenges taught me to trust the process, even when it took multiple attempts to achieve my intended vision. Through experimentation, I learned that persistence and openness to failure are important in developing a strong design. Because of this, the part of my design process I would want people to see the most is the experimentation phase, where I explored different textile manipulations using liquid silicone and liquid latex to create something new. This stage shows the hard work behind the collection and reflects my willingness to keep experimenting, making mistakes, and pushing forward until the final look truly came to life.
