Inspired by revisionist history, Unravelling: The Counternarrative is for promoting activism and freedom of speech. This collection is meant for socialites, collectors, and older advocates who operate on a platform that can reach hundreds of thousands of followers to spread awareness and make a statement against injustice. With this, the collection incentivizes change and empowerment. Through disturbing visuals and dissecting and reimagining the iconic Terno, this collection will slowly burn away and unveil the gory truth about the Philippines’ history.

I am Kamila Caguioa, a Fashion Design and Merchandising student from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. My advocacies and volunteerism influences my art and fashion, opting for practical yet subtle forms of activism. Throughout my studies, I experimented with my signature, timeless aesthetic merged with activism and self-expression.

I still can’t believe the timing of my collection to be so perfect. I hardly did any future trend planning but everything fell into place. My thesis collection truly put me through hell and high water both with how sensitive the subject is and how strenuous the process was for me. There are many things I’d like to change about the designs, like the fit and polishing of the details. But overall, I’m glad that I did manage to finish it and that hopefully the message is delivered. Overall, the whole process was truly a labour of love.
