FATAL DESTRUCTION is a collection that explores the haunting irony of coping mechanisms, how the very things we turn to for comfort often become the source of our physical and emotional destruction. Through a raw, visual storyline, the collection follows an individual’s descent as they rely on these mechanisms, blurring the line between healing and harm. It challenges the normalization and romanticization of self-destructive behaviors in today’s culture, confronting viewers with the quiet damage we overlook. Fatal Destruction is not just fashion, it’s a mirror, a message, and a call to recognize the pain hidden behind what we call “coping.”

Lara Datinguinoo is a designer whose work focuses on womenswear and couture. Deeply inspired by emotion and storytelling, she transforms personal narratives into tangible, wearable art. Believing that fashion can serve as a silent voice for self-expression, Lara creates pieces that can go beyond, garments that embody feeling, memory, and the beauty of human experience.

My process for this collection is centered on using fashion as a way to express emotions that are often difficult to verbalize. Throughout this course, I have consistently designed from personal feeling, allowing my garments to act as a voice for emotions that go unheard. The process challenged me to clearly translate these emotions into visual form while working with structured silhouettes unfamiliar to my practice. Through this process, the garments become a quiet confrontation, where restraint meets release, and unspoken emotion is given space to exist.
