De Vera, Mabyn

Under the glare of stadium lights and the echo of a countdown buzzer, 4 THREE steps onto the court. This collection draws from the spirit of the game: its rhythm, its tension, its magic. It is not just about the sport but about what it feels like to be there: the anticipation, the unity, the language of the game written in motion. 4 THREE captures the emotional landscape of basketball and translates it into wearable stories.
Mabyn Faith De Vera, fashion design and merchandising student at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, redefines fashion as a narrative, not a trend. Her mastery of the technical aspects of pattern replication, garment construction, and fabric behavior allows her to speak the language of textiles fluently, understanding how materials resist, fold, and breathe. Fearless and audacious, she moves through her design process with efficiency, never sacrificing intention. Each stitch is a quiet defiance against the fleeting nature of trends, and every silhouette is a conversation between what was and what could be. Mabyn designs for feeling, memory, and motion, creating pieces that capture the essence of time and wear, inviting the wearer into a deeper, more meaningful connection with their clothes.
Creating 4 THREE helped me understand that my identity as a designer is rooted in emotional storytelling supported by technical precision, where movement, structure, and intention coexist. The collection affirmed my ability to translate feeling into form, using construction as a narrative tool rather than a purely functional one. What began as a visual and thematic response to basketball gradually evolved into an exploration of its emotional rhythm and lived experience. As the process progressed, literal references gave way to subtler expressions of tension, anticipation, and motion. This shift in direction was driven most by material experimentation and the realization that emotion, when refined through technique, creates a more lasting impact.
