Race Reverie draws inspiration from the dynamic world of automobiles, racing sports, and nostalgic car culture. The designs feature sleek silhouettes and structural elements reminiscent of car exteriors and components, such as streamlined forms and paneling that echo the aerodynamic lines of high-octane performance vehicles.
Rainer Joshua Dysanco is a Fashion Design and Merchandising student at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, taking the Design Track and specializing in luxury streetwear RTW. His work merges storytelling and craftsmanship, creating pieces that are both conceptually rich and technically refined. With a design aesthetic rooted in luxurious ready-to-wear, Rainer draws inspiration from personal experiences and mainstream culture, translating them into garments that reflect transformation, individuality, and modern sophistication. His skill set spans patternmaking, draping, sewing, CAD, and textile design, complemented by specialized techniques such as embroidery, paneling, quilting, heatpress, silk screen, and graphic design.
This collection helped me understand that my identity as a designer is strongly rooted in working with thicker fabrics and constructing garments through complex paneling and curved forms, which has naturally become a signature of my style. I realized that I am drawn to designs that are not only visually striking but also narrative-driven, allowing my work to tell a story and create emotional connections with people. Throughout the process, I found myself refining my paneling skills the most, especially in experimenting with different panel shapes, sizes, and curve angles to achieve the intended silhouette. I had to continuously adjust and practice techniques to ensure that the structure and form were not compromised, particularly when working with heavier materials like leather. This collection also taught me various methods of joining leather panels through different stitching techniques and preparation processes. Overall, the repetition and problem-solving involved deepened my appreciation for garment structure and strengthened my understanding of how to control silhouette and form when designing with thick, structured fabrics.
