Under the leadership of Vice President Michael Luis Fernando “Butch” Tecson III, the OVPAI brings together key administrative and innovation services. This alignment is designed to strengthen operational frameworks and foster collaboration across various departments.

Administration

The Administration cluster oversees critical operational functions to ensure the seamless management of Benilde’s day-to-day needs. These offices collectively handle organization development, human resources, medical services, campus facilities, procurement operations, and spaces for retreats and recollections:

  • Center for Built Environment and Logistics (CBEL)
  • Center for Facilities Maintenance and Campus Development (CFMCD)
  • Center for Procurement (CPROC)

Innovation

The Innovation cluster focuses on fostering a future-ready, technology-forward institution by driving internal collaboration, advancing data-driven decision-making, and managing the institution’s digital and technological infrastructure. This cluster also ensures operational efficiency through centralized helpdesk services:

  • Innovation Office (INNOV)
  • Information System and Technology Office (ISTO)
  • Digital Transformation Office (DXO)
  • Center for Institutional Helpdesk (CIH)

The establishment of OVPAI reflects the College’s commitment to refining its organizational structure to enhance collaboration and efficiency. This transition provides an opportunity for the clustered offices to operate in a more cohesive manner, aligning with strategic priorities. The Benildean Community is encouraged to engage with these offices, support the changes, and contribute to a collective effort toward continued growth.

The BeAT Awards Returns

The Office of the President recently announced the return of the BeAT (Benilde Alumni Technopreneur) Awards for 2025, continuing its mission to recognize Benildean alumni who harness technology to create meaningful impact. This initiative has been a catalyst for innovation since 2019, spotlighting game-changing startups and entrepreneurial trailblazers whose creative ideas inspire progress and transformation.

From its inception, the BeAT Awards have celebrated the ingenuity of alumni whose ventures exemplify Benildean excellence. Past winners include EDUKSINE, DISCOVER MNL, EVERYTHING GREEN PH, REPAMANA, and others, showcasing diverse industries and innovative solutions that improve lives and communities.

Last year’s BeAT Awardee, Darius Jireh Juson (BA Fashion Design and Merchandising, 2024), founded REPAMANA, a circular social enterprise that repurposes discarded hotel textiles into ready-to-wear garments and renewed amenities. Similarly, Camille Albarracin (MS Tourism and Hospitality Management, 2019), the first BeAT Awardee, launched EVERYTHING GREEN, a purpose-driven enterprise offering “greenovative” products that promote sustainability. Their journeys reflect how Benildeans are redefining industries while addressing global challenges.

The BeAT Awards identify and support outstanding alumni through rigorous screening and development opportunities. Finalists participate in a two-day bootcamp and pitching session, where they receive mentorship and industry insights. The BeAT Awardee will receive a ₱350,000 grant and six months of business development support. Special citation recipients will be awarded ₱35,000, along with access to mentorship and investor opportunities.

With the nomination period closing on April 30, 2025, the BeAT Awards will soon unveil this year’s outstanding Benildean technopreneurs. Stay updated on the finalists and winners by following The BeAT Awards on Facebook.
