DRO is an avant-garde ready-to-wear label that reimagines medieval grandeur through a modern lens. Each piece fuses archaic silhouettes and armor-like structure with contemporary tailoring, creating garments that feel both protective and poetic. The brand explores the tension between restraint and rebellion, where history meets futurism, and vulnerability becomes strength. Dro’s identity lies in its pursuit of wearable art, crafting clothes that challenge conformity while evoking timeless power.

Alessandro Salinio is a visionary designer whose work treads the line between rebellion and reverence. Rooted in avant-garde experimentation, his creations draw from the mystique of medieval form—where structure becomes storytelling and garments echo the armor of self-expression. Through a lens of modernity, Salinio transforms history into wearable art, crafting pieces that confront vulnerability with strength and beauty with distortion. His design philosophy reflects a quiet pursuit of evolution, inviting wearers to exist boldly within the tension of the past and the now.

The design process for this collection was both challenging and rewarding. At times, it felt mentally and emotionally draining due to the pressure of creating something original and meaningful. There were moments of self-doubt, especially when revisions were needed even after I felt a design was already finished. Managing my time while meeting creative expectations was difficult, but this experience helped me realize that being a designer requires patience, commitment, and consistency. Through this process, I learned to trust my ideas and not give up, as seeing the final outcome made all the challenges feel worthwhile.

My personal interests, particularly in dark fantasy and video games, played a big role in shaping the direction of this collection. I was inspired by how characters are designed to appear strong yet vulnerable, often through armor-like silhouettes and layered details. Translating these influences into wearable garments pushed me to think more carefully about structure, fabric choice, and storytelling.
