This module covers FSL Interpreting Teaming and Feedback Strategies. Teaming allows for affirmation that the message is correct, it also allows for support if the interpretation was inaccurate, but most importantly having a team allows for breaks as working into another language for a certain period of time can be quite fatiguing.
Feedback is the opportunity for pre-assignment and post-assignment discussion to debrief on the work that is to come and when the assignment is complete. It is vital to have pre- assignment feedback as it will allow for better means of teaming when you know what your team needs when they need a feed. Post-assignment includes what was effective and what wasn’t effective during certain moments of interpretation.
This module also provides tools and methods to engage in appropriate self-care and to prevent burnout as professional interpreters.
