This module covers Basic makeup application techniques for special effects for arts and media. Participants will learn the basic techniques, basic materials in applying makeup for special effects and history of prosthetic makeups. Students will also have undergo a review of their basic human anatomy to be able to understand and determine how special effects on wound/injury can come to life and look believably real. Learn basic colour theory and basic color mixing.
This module is designed for first time users that have a limited fundamental understanding of basic and traditional makeup artistry.

At the end of the module the participant will be able to:
Learn and understand about human anatomy and how this will impact makeup techniques in recreating it.
Learn and demonstrate the makeup techniques for special effects.
Identify basic materials and makeup tools for special effects.
Learn the proper way of handling of materials and maintaining a sanitized work area and prevent and skin problem or irritation.
Learn basic color theory which is the vital part of prosthetics makeup.
Produce sample look on special effects that demonstrate the students’ mastery of skills and techniques covered.
