This module covers basic frames on understanding art. Participants will learn how to experience and understand visual, music and performance art through their basic elements, medium and technique, as well as analyze and critique their content and context.
Participants will create activities applying these principles to their lesson plans. Emphasis is placed on framing the basic understanding of art and aesthetics and how these concepts can be translated to art activities in then classroom and be applied to any strand within the Senior High School program and Higher Education Arts Classes.
This module will also help the learners in developing a portfolio of creative pedagogies and methodologies, as well as a comprehensive resource database that will aid and heighten the creative learning experience of their pupils.

Lara Angelica B. Rosario
Lara is a part time faculty of the Foundation Studies (formerly Design Foundations) Department at the School of Design and Arts, at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
She graduated from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor’s degree in Art Studies wherein she is also currently pursuing her Masters degree in Museum Studies. Her experience in the arts would include the planning and implementation of national and international culture and arts projects and events in behalf of government institutions such as the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the University of the Philippines, and the Department of Education.
Interactions and engagements with seasoned curators, art critics, art educators and cultural workers both within the academe and in the field have provided a more holistic perspective in art which she found integral in teaching Humanities (Art and Society), Art Appreciation, Art History (Philippine, Asian and Western), Aesthetics, and Cultural Anthropology.
It was her academic and community work in the arts that has affirmed her belief in the significance of local culture and art in education that she tries to impart to all of her students.
has worked as an art educator for tertiary and senior high levels for eight years. She finished her Bachelors in Art Studies with a minor in Anthropology and Psychology and Master’s degree under Art History at the University of the Philippines Diliman. She is also a cultural worker and arts based researcher. She has presented research papers in local and international conferences with topics in art and museum education, art and healing, socially engaged art and pedagogies in Philippine Art.
She is also a licensed Secondary education teacher major in Music, Arts and Physical Education and a recipient of the Asian Graduate Fellowship Award by the National University of Singapore Asian Research Institute in 2014.
