This course on Strategic Training Management examines the critical components necessary to ensure that training initiatives in organizations are linked to business needs and corporate objectives, and more importantly, can provide significant measurable results. It provides participants the unique perspective of a training and development manager and covers a whole array of topics related to the effective management of the L&D function. It also covers the development of learning strategies that will encourage the creation of learning and development systems, as well as L&D programs that will create and sustain critical impact for the organization.

Alexander “Deng” Kibanoff is VP for Learning and Development at PLDT-Smart with more than 20 years experience in HR. His job involves training strategy formulation, curriculum design and development (for leadership, technical and behavioral programs), as well as day-to-day management and administration of training programs and interventions for all employees in PLDT and Smart. He pioneered e-learning in PLDT, developing programs for on-line learning and virtual classroom course delivery in a much recognized program called "LearNET". He was also once part of the Business Transformation Office of PLDT developing programs for its Transformation Academy.
Deng is a regular speaker for the public progams of the Philippine Society for Talent Development, the foremost association of learning and development professionals in the country. He also serves as a part-time Facilitator at the De La Salle University-College of St. Benilde, School of Professional and Continuing Education, handling some modules in its Human Capital Management and Workplace Learning and Development Diploma Programs. He was also formerly a part-time faculty of San Beda College (college level), Enderun Colleges (college level), and Southville Foreign University (MBA Program), teaching human resource management academic courses. He is also a regular volunteer of PLDT-Smart Foundation's Gabay Guro Program, serving as Training Pillar Head, and personally having taught more than 30,000 teachers in various seminars nationwide that Gabay Guro runs as part of its teacher training advocacy.
Deng holds a Master of Commerce (Economics) from the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia, where he served as an ADCOS full scholar, a Bachelor of Business Management and MBA from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and an AB Economics (cum laude) from UP. He also holds a Professional Teacher’s License and placed No. 1 in the National Licensure Exam for Teachers in 2008.
