The Diploma in Substance Use Interventions prepares participants for professional certification at the entry level by providing the evidence based information about treatment of Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and facilitating hands-on activities to develop self-awareness, competence, skills and techniques.


The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) in collaboration with global experts and other International Organizations developed the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC), the most comprehensive learning material for addiction professionals.


SPaCE will provide SUD practitioners’ quality learning experience that is applicable in their careers and advances their understanding of SUD related issues through the dissemination of UTC. The program will demonstrate how the course relates to the science of addiction, the continuum of care from pretreatment to aftercare, and legal and ethical considerations within the country system.

  4. Medical doctors and allied 

  5. Health personnel

  7. Students in the mental health, social work, psychology and counseling fields.

As well as:

  1. High School Graduate with four years work experience in SUD treatment

  2. College undergrad with two years work experience in SUD Treatment Setting

  3. College Graduate of any Social Science and Allied Medical Courses

  4. Government Employees: Anti Drug Abuse Councils (Barangay, Municipal, City, Provincial), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Corrections, etc.
