29 April 2025
On April 25, 2025, Benilde Center for External Linkages (CEL) hosted a sendoff event for exchange students from France, Spain, Russia, Morocco, Singapore, and Indonesia, who spent the Second Term of AY 2024-2025 at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Facilitated by Ms. Jane Paula Roxas of CEL, the event was held at the Ideation Room of the Atrium@Benilde Campus, bringing together students, faculty, and administrators to reflect on the experiences of the exchange participants.
Exchange students shared their memories of academic growth, cultural immersion, and travels to iconic Philippine destinations such as Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, and Siargao. Bruno Peig of La Salle University Ramon Llull of Spain, who spent eight months at Benilde, said, “I’ve learned so much from traveling around the Philippines and meeting people from different communities. I’ll definitely carry these memories with me when I return home.” Sofia Samir from Universite Internationale de Rabat of Morocco, who extended her stay for another term, added, “Benilde truly feels like a second home. The friendships I’ve made here are unforgettable.”
Mr. Sherlo Reyes, Director of CEL, spoke about the importance of student exchange programs in fostering global understanding: “Your presence at Benilde has exposed our students to cultures, languages, and ideas that broaden their horizons. We hope you’ll share your positive experiences with others when you return home.”
Ms. Joana Diñoso, Dean of the School of Management and Information Technology, expressed her gratitude to the exchange students, noting that their arrival coincided with her first term as dean: “Seeing how much you’ve enjoyed your experience reassures me that the team has succeeded in creating a welcoming environment for you. Thank you for trusting Benilde to be your school during your time in the Philippines.”
For academic year 2024-2025, Benilde welcomed its first cohort of students from Singapore, Russia, and Morocco. Adding to its growing number of international higher education institution partners. CEL also highlighted how Benilde Global has successfully fostered meaningful partnerships with institutions like Universitat Ramon Llull, which hosted Benilde students as part of its exchange program. These partnerships represent the College’s commitment to expanding global collaboration opportunities and enriching cultural and academic experiences for students.
