About the Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference
The Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference is an initiative by the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde that aims to bring together the academic community and professionals in the hospitality, culinary, and tourism industries.
Day 1 of the conference will focus on the plenary and panel discussion, and this will be held at the Manila Ballroom in Marriott Hotel Manila. Day 2 will feature an expo that will allow attendees to connect with different tourism players from the academe and the industry. This will be held at the SHRIM Campus at the Angelo King International Center (AKIC).
The conference’s goal is to bridge pathways for development, partnerships, and collaborations to address the demands of the consistently changing tourism industry. It aims to unlock ways to improve hospitality education and produce professionals who are built to adapt and keep up with the changing times.
Conference Theme: Unlocking the Code to Global Excellence in Tourism Education
This year’s Br. Andrew Gonzalez Academia-Industry Conference is hosted by the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM). True to its purpose, the theme is centered around the development of tourism education including hospitality and culinary. The conference will focus in unlocking the code to global excellence by sharing trends and insights about academic accreditation, international collaborations and partnerships, and emerging and innovative technologies in teaching tourism. With guests and speakers coming from different parts of the world, experts will share the needs that the industry demands from the academe. The conference will be a venue for the academe to respond, network, and take on opportunities to bring tourism education to the next level.
