De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has formalized a partnership with the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) last March 7, 2025 to launch a Student Exchange Program, further strengthening its commitment to academic collaboration and international learning opportunities for students.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed in Singapore by Maria Veronica Templo-Perez, Benilde’s Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, alongside Professor Steve Dixon, President of UAS. This initiative provides students pursuing degrees in film, fine arts, design, media, performing arts, and arts management the opportunity for cross-cultural engagement and academic enrichment.
As part of the exchange program, UAS has sent its first exchange student, currently studying Film, to Benilde for the current term. In the upcoming school year, Benilde will send its first batch of students to UAS, marking the beginning of a balanced exchange between the institutions. The agreement allows up to 10 students per academic year, with a limit of 2 students per program, ensuring diverse learning experiences.
Participants will be exempt from tuition fees at the host institution, though they must cover travel, accommodation, and living expenses. Academic credits earned during the exchange will be recognized by the home institution, ensuring seamless academic progression.
Benilde has long been a hub for international student exchanges, welcoming learners from globally recognized institutions. Its strong foundation in international collaboration is evident in the experiences of students from UniLaSalle France, who recently reflected on their enriching journeys at Benilde. The partnership with UAS builds upon this legacy, expanding opportunities for students in the creative industries.
This agreement reinforces Benilde’s dedication to globalizing arts education, equipping students with international exposure, immersive learning experiences, and professional networking opportunities. The program will undergo annual reviews to ensure continued growth and success.
