Analytics Association of the PH, Benilde collab for new curriculum

To produce the next generation of analytics professionals, the Analytics Association of the Philippines (AAP) and the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde have joined forces to develop an industry-driven curriculum.

The program will prepare students to be competitive professionals and industry leaders, with careers options such as data scientists, data analysts, report authors, data architects, IT consultants and project managers.

Comprised of the active players and most distinguished leaders in the field, the AAP is an organization that takes the lead in elevating analytics and analytics-enabled industries and technologies in the country.

The organization likewise guides the College in establishing strategies in accordance to the AAP Analytics Framework, on par with global standards such as Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)’s Project DARE (Data Analytics Raising Employment), Project SPARTA (Project Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics, R&D, Training, and Adaption), and America’s BHEF (Business-Higher Education Forum).

In this pursuit, AAP provides labor resources and learning materials, which includes sample course presentations, textbooks and datasets, as well as diverse exercises and examinations.

With the goal to become ASEAN’s choice in Business and Technology Education, the college is currently developing an innovative and inclusive curriculum aligned with the current industry trends based on the insights and recommendations of AAP’s team of shareholders, experts and board of advisers.

The syllabus is purposefully designed for the developing business intelligence analytics and the existing Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Intelligence and Analytics Programs.

The AAP aids in the assessment of its Analytics Level of Maturity as the college incorporates students in other programs such as tourism, human resource management and real estate management, among others.
