As part of its ongoing Gender and Development (GAD) advocacy, Benilde gathered the dedicated individuals who have served, and continue to serve, on the College’s Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI). This gathering reaffirmed Benilde’s commitment to implementing Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act, a national mandate that protects all individuals from gender-based sexual harassment (GBSH) in schools, workplaces, and online spaces.

The CODI Debriefing and Celebratory Lunch was held last November 25, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hotel Benilde. The debriefing session was facilitated by Mrs. Norie Ador Dionisio, Director of the Center for Restorative Discipline (CRD), who guided CODI members through a reflective and restorative process grounded in Restorative Circles. Her facilitation provided a safe and structured space for participants to revisit their experiences, acknowledge emotional labor, and strengthen their shared commitment to addressing GBSH cases with empathy and accountability.

The discussions highlighted that CODI’s work extends far beyond compliance and procedure. The process is deeply human, restorative, and impactful—rooted in the College’s Catholic values and its mission to uphold compassion, justice, and healing. Through CODI, Benilde not only resolves cases but fosters an environment that prioritizes dignity, respect, and the well-being of every member of the community.

This gathering served as a meaningful occasion for reflection, healing, shared learning, and system strengthening – a moment to honor the unwavering dedication of those who safeguard the College’s culture of respect and accountability.

The event’s timing was significant, coinciding with the opening day of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW). From November 25 to December 12, communities across the Philippines stand united against gender-based violence. Benilde joins this national call with strong conviction, reinforcing its GAD efforts and commitment to safe and inclusive environments.

As Benilde continues its #GADvocacy, the community is reminded: Your voice matters. Your story matters.

The College encourages every Benildean to stand as a #GADvocate, a champion of respect, inclusivity, and dignity in every space. Through shared responsibility and collective commitment, Benilde ensures that every individual learns, works, and thrives in an environment where respect is the norm and dignity is non-negotiable.

Together, the Benildean community continues to build safer, more inclusive, and more empowered spaces- inside the College and beyond it.
