Akosi Music PH recently made waves with its collectible NFC-enabled Music Card and one-time-only gig in Makati, introducing a new way for fans to engage with unreleased Filipino music through physical ownership. While the headlines spotlighted the product, the story worth telling begins with the three individuals who built it.
Architect and technopreneur Alexander Abear, multimedia creative Earl Marquez, and UX strategist Lennard Koa Lee are the co-founders of Akosi Music PH. Each brings a distinct discipline into the fold, bridging architecture, design, business strategy, and user experience into one clear message: music is more than content. It’s culture, it’s identity, and it deserves to be owned with purpose.
Alexander currently leads incubation strategy at Benilde HiFi, the Hub of Innovation for Inclusion accredited by DOST. As Head of the Incubation Management Unit, he designs founder pathways and builds creative ecosystems. A pioneer of the Benilde Architecture Program and a certified senior design thinking coach, his work moves between structure and emotion, mapping out how bold ideas can grow without losing their soul. Akosi Music PH reflects this thinking, built not just for scale but for cultural resonance.
Earl brings energy and narrative into focus. A graduate of Benilde Multimedia Arts Program and recipient of the Outstanding Student Artist award at the 32nd Gawad Benildyano, he’s known for crafting visual identities that thrive across mediums. Whether through live production, branding, or artist collaborations, Earl’s work holds story at the center. At Akosi Music PH, he shapes both the aesthetic and the atmosphere, helping music feel collectable, tactile, and rooted in Filipino creative language.
Lennard leads with insight. As a UX Research Associate at Angkas, he studies how people move through physical and digital spaces. With a degree in BSBA major in Computer Applications and background in business administration, information technology, and strategic design from Benilde, he focuses on user clarity and systems that make complexity feel simple. For Akosi Music PH, Lennard ensures the experience, whether through tapping a card or joining a live show, is smooth, intentional, and grounded in community.
Akosi Music PH is one of the trailblazing startups supported by Benilde HiFi. While its debut brought a new model for music ownership and experience, it emerged from an ecosystem where bold ideas are shaped and launched. Earlier this year, Benilde HiFi helped guide sixteen separate ventures into the BAJ Accelerator in New York, equipping young founders with targeted coaching, pitch development, and international exposure. Akosi Music PH grew in parallel with these efforts, shaped by the same culture of creative intention and founder-focused mentorship.
This startup isn’t positioning itself as a fleeting drop or novelty product. With the AKOSI Music Card, it challenges how local music is shared and celebrated. Each card offers tap-to-play access to unreleased tracks, entry to live events like Akosi Music Night, and a blend of audio and visual storytelling that reconnects artists and audiences. It turns music into something you can hold, gift, experience in the moment, and carry forward…without reuploads or reruns.
In a space often shaped by metrics and trend cycles, Alexander, Earl, and Lennard aren’t chasing virality. They’re building something slower, deeper, and designed to last.
