Celebrating Benildeans and Partners at the Heart of Service

19 April 2024

Last April 12, at the Benilde Design and Arts Campus, the 5th Floor Theater, master of ceremonies RJ Damian, NSTP-02 Deployment Officer, on behalf of the Center for Social Action (CSA), welcomed the audience to the prestigious annual Saint Benilde Romancon Community Engagement Awards.

Now in its second year, these awards extend recognition to esteemed partners, including Benildean students, associates, and valued community collaborators. Their steadfast commitment to community engagement epitomizes the essence of the Lasallian Mission, underscoring its indispensability in the collective pursuit of societal betterment.

This year’s event celebrated community achievements for the academic year A.Y. 2022-2023 as Center for Social Action Director Ms. May Flor B. Artagame reflected on the legacies of St. Benilde Romancon and St. John Baptist de la Salle in her opening remarks and the importance of their teachings towards a path of service and empowerment, “It is fitting to have our awarding ceremony in April when we celebrate the beatification of St. Benilde Romancon, our Saint. And the birth and feast day of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, our founder,” she said. “On behalf of the Center for Social Action, I congratulate all the awardees for this year’s award.”

For the recognition awards for volunteers of the Benildean Community, given to the students and associates for their selfless contributions as volunteers to the Center for Social Action for AY 2022-2023 programs and activities, Ms. Chona Rodulfa, Director – People and Organization Development Office and Mr. Ron Malaluan, Head, Center for Social Action – Benildean Engagement Unit handed out certificates to the following volunteers: Jeanne Gabrielle Daza (student), Athena Trifonia Tiglao (associate), Liberato Umali, Jr. (associate), Cromwell Taduran (associate), and Henry De Guzman (associate).
