The Commission on Higher Education has approved 13 for‑credit microcredentials for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Starting Academic Year 2026-2027, students in Architecture, Real Estate Management, and Hospitality and Luxury Management can earn professional certificates while completing their degrees.
Benilde is one of only eight schools in the Philippines given this recognition. The group includes Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, and the University of the Philippines.
Even before this approval, the College had been refining its programs to include microcredentials. The goal is clear, which is to give students the chance to engage in professional work while they are still studying.
Microcredentials are short courses that award certificates recognized by CHED. If a student already holds these certificates before enrolling, some subjects in their Benilde program may be credited right away. If they don’t have them yet, they will earn the certificates as part of their studies. This gives students the chance to qualify for professional work while completing their degree.
Benilde’s approved microcredentials cover three areas:
These certificates match industry standards. Architecture students can qualify for drafting and CAD work, Real Estate students can practice brokerage and appraisal, and Hospitality students can operate global reservation and property management systems.
“Benilde’s readiness to deliver flexible pathways makes it deserving of CHED’s recognition, giving learners the chance to gain professional credentials while completing their studies.
