De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is now part of the CHED SIKAP Grant network, following the Partnership Signing Ceremony held on August 13, 2025, at the CHED Central Office in Quezon City.
Joining the event from Benilde were Chancellor Benhur Ong, Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Lacson, and Dean Marie Castro of the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM), which will help carry out the program. From CHED, Dr. Jimmy Catanes, CESE, Director IV of CHED-NCR, and Atty. Richie Salubre, Permanent Alternate Focal Person, led the proceedings.
The CHED SIKAP Grant (Scholarships for Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program) supports graduate studies for qualified teaching and non-teaching personnel in higher education institutions. It’s part of CHED’s push to build up faculty expertise and raise the quality of education nationwide. Through the grant, eligible Benildean personnel may get financial support for tuition, research, and academic needs while pursuing master’s or doctorate degrees in CHED-recognized programs.
Benilde currently offers Master in Human Resource Management, Master in International Business, Master of Digital Media, and Master of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management. These programs are designed to help professionals grow their skills, gain industry insight, and explore global perspectives. By joining the grant program, the College builds on its long-standing commitment to inclusive and forward-thinking education. This advocacy has guided earlier initiatives that support educators and service professionals.
Earlier this August, Benilde was also recognized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines during the 25th Anniversary of the AFP Educational Benefit System Office. The College received a Plaque of Distinction for its long-running scholarship program for children of military personnel who were killed or injured in service. Since 2009, Benilde has offered full tuition coverage to qualified applicants, helping them finish college and build brighter futures. Many of these scholars have gone on to become professionals, officers, and community leaders. This is a clear sign that accessible education can truly change lives.
