Internships and Cultural Projects Advance Benilde with Nayong Pilipino Foundation Collaboration

22 January 2026

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and the Nayong Pilipino Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand their partnership in tourism and cultural education. The agreement was sealed on January 19, 2026 at Café Romançon, Hotel Benilde.

The collaboration creates opportunities for students in the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program, who will take part in internships, immersion trips, and cultural projects with the Nayong Pilipino Foundation. These experiences connect directly to their training in tourism management, cultural relations, and entrepreneurship.

This new agreement continues the partnership that first introduced microcredentials in cultural leadership. It now extends into internships, cultural projects, and research, giving BSTM students more ways to link classroom learning with real-world practice.

The partnership also includes mentorship, joint workshops, and shared research projects. Students will take on real-world challenges, use data tools in their studies, and design tourism services that showcase Filipino heritage and culture.

Present during the signing were Benilde Chancellor Benhur A. Ong, Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco U. Lacson, and School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management Dean Maria Paz Castro. Representing Nayong Pilipino Foundation were Executive Director Marygrace A. Ac-ac and Marketing and Operations Office OIC Paul M. Formaran.

This collaboration shows how Benilde’s Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program prepares students to become innovators and leaders in tourism and heritage. With internships, cultural projects, and microcredentials, BSTM students gain the skills and experiences that connect classroom learning to the real world.
