Jury Members Revealed for Benilde Open Design + Art: Extension of Nature

The Benilde Open Design + Art 2025 has announced the members of its jury. The program invites bold ideas that explore sustainability, creativity, and technology under the theme Extension of Nature. The jury will select grantees who will receive production grants to bring their projects to life.

  • Freddy Anzures – Filipino American designer, part of Apple’s original iPhone team, known for human-centered interface design.
  • Jihoi Lee – Curator at Korea’s National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, with global experience in exhibitions across Asia, Europe, and the US.
  • Mireia Luzárraga – Architect and co-founder of TAKK, a studio recognized for feminist and ecological approaches to design.
  • Nathalie Huni – Managing Director and Head of Design at Wells Fargo, leading digital experiences across multiple platforms.
  • Timothy Moore – Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture at the National Gallery of Victoria, director of Melbourne Design Week, and founder of Sibling Architecture.


The jury brings together voices from technology, architecture, curation, and corporate design. Their combined expertise will shape the selection of projects that push boundaries and respond to today’s challenges.

Benilde Open is a grant initiative by De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde that supports creative projects at the intersection of art, design, nature, and technology. This year’s theme, Extension of Nature, invites creators to explore sustainability and rethink humanity’s role in shaping a balanced relationship with the environment. Grantees will receive support to realize their ideas, while students under the Best of Benilde program may be awarded up to ₱50,000. Last year’s theme focused on Extension of the Body, encouraging projects that examined identity, embodiment, and human experience through design and art.

Benilde has always been at the forefront of creativity and inclusion, nurturing its community and extending its reach through programs that create an ecosystem where creativity grows and innovation thrives. Experimental projects gain support through Benilde Open, encouraging creators to explore sustainability and innovation. Alumni ventures find recognition and funding through the BeAT Awards, which celebrate startups that make an impact. National initiatives like participating in Impact Week PH by Benilde HiFi champion inclusion and entrepreneurship. Standing as a centerpiece in this ecosystem, Benilde Open shows how the institution invests in ideas that challenge convention and imagine new futures.
