On June 8, 2026, the College signed a five year Memorandum of Understanding with Miriam College at the MC Art Gallery in Quezon City. The agreement sets a shared direction for transformative education that values inclusivity and innovation.
The partnership covers student and faculty exchanges, joint research, seminars and conferences, digital learning and microcredentialing, short term study abroad programs, and internships. These initiatives give students and teachers more ways to learn, share expertise, and gain global experience.
Both institutions agreed to collaborate on research projects, seminars, and conferences. These activities create spaces where faculty and students can share expertise and explore new ideas together. Joint seminars on sustainability, technology, and education are among the areas that can bring practical value to students while connecting classroom learning with real world issues.
The agreement also covers digital learning and microcredentialing. Benilde has been developing short, skills focused programs that allow learners to earn credentials in specific areas such as design, technology, and hospitality. These initiatives give students flexible options to strengthen their qualifications and prepare for careers that demand specialized knowledge.
Short term study abroad programs and internships are part of the scope as well. These opportunities give students practical experience and exposure to different cultures and industries. They help learners apply what they study in classrooms to professional settings, while also building networks that extend beyond the Philippines.
The partnership also extends to inclusion and advocacy. Benilde has institutionalized Gender and Development mainstreaming and runs programs for Deaf education, including its partnership with the Philippine Normal University for Deaf teacher training. Miriam College has a long tradition of advocacy in gender equality, peace, and sustainability. Partnering with Miriam strengthens Benilde’s inclusion efforts and expands the reach of both schools in shaping compassionate leaders and active contributors to society.
The Benilde delegation was led by Brother President Br. Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez, FSC, Chancellor Benhur Ong, Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson, and Dean Arlene Tumala of Benilde Antipolo. Miriam College was represented by President Dr. Maria Regina Lucia Lizares, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Trixie Marie Sison, Board of Trustees member Dr. Carmelita Quebeco, Vice President for Finance Dr. Maria Concepcion Y. Lupizan, and Human Resources Director Dr. Noel C. Rancho.
