PERSPECTIVE NOVEMBER 2025

November saw Benilde advancing on multiple fronts, from new industry collaborations and creative learning events to AI‑driven innovations and campus milestones. Highlights included PRSP formalizing ties for student development, IGNITE unveiling the College’s AI roadmap, and the groundbreaking of the Delfin J. Wenceslao Jr. Campus at ASEANA City. Benildeans also celebrated wins at GDAP Game On and gathered for the Christmas tree lighting. With achievements across academics, partnerships, and sustainability, the Christmas spirit was already in the air throughout the Benildean Community.

Benilde and the Public Relations Society of the Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 5, 2025 at Vatel Restaurant, The Atrium@Benilde Campus. Pokémon TCG Roadshow Connects Play with Creative Learning

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Academia Roadshow arrived at Benilde on November 13, bringing tutorials, friendly matches, and a lively community of players to the Design+Arts Campus. Organized by Romançon Gaming, the student organization for Benildean gamers, in partnership with WP Gaming, the event welcomed Benildean and non-Benildean enthusiasts to learn and enjoy the world of Pokémon TCG together.

IGNITE Event Unveils Benilde’s AI Roadmap and School of the Future Vision

Benilde’s non‑teaching associates gathered last November 20 at the Fifth Floor Theater at Design+Arts Campus for IGNITE: Lighting the Path to Digital Transformation. The launch marked the official start of the Digital Transformation Office (DXO). The morning was filled with stories, frameworks, and roadmaps that showed how digital change is not just about technology, but about people, culture, and mission. The program was warmly hosted by Angeli Villamor, CIP Planning Officer, who guided the flow of the sessions and kept the energy high throughout the event.

BAGCON 2025 Highlights Benilde’s Role in Global Dialogue

SPACE, One Ayala became a meeting ground for leaders, educators, creatives, and students during the Brother Andrew Gonzalez FSC Academia‑Industry Conference (BAGCON) 2025, held on November 12–13. For two days, voices from classrooms, studios, boardrooms, and communities came together under the theme New Imaginings: Designing Future Societies. As Benilde’s annual academia‑industry gathering, BAGCON shifts its focus each year. Last year, it explored hospitality, tourism, food service, and culinary. This year, the spotlight turned to creative industries, showing how Benilde can convene conversations that matter on a global scale.

SHRIM Microcredentialing Launched to Boost Employability of Benildeans

The 71st Young Hoteliers’ Exposition opened with excitement and purpose. Students, faculty, and industry partners gathered last November 21 to celebrate imagination and hospitality excellence, but the highlight was the official launch of the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM) microcredentialing program. This initiative is designed to give Benildeans a stronger edge in the workplace by equipping them with industry‑recognized skills and certifications across culinary, tourism, and service industries.

Impact Week PH 2025 ran from November 5 to 13 in Baguio. It was the fourth time the program was held in the Philippines and the first time outside Metro Manila. After three successful editions at Benilde HiFi in Manila, this year’s event brought fresh energy to Baguio, where students, mentors, and innovators came together for a week of design thinking and collaboration.

Groundbreaking of Benilde Delfin J. Wenceslao Jr. Campus at ASEANA City

On 28 November 2025, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde marked the groundbreaking of its new Delfin J. Wenceslao Jr. Campus in ASEANA City, Parañaque. The ceremony was graced by Hon. Mayor Edwin Olivarez, Mr. Delfin Angelo “Buds” Wenceslao of DM Wenceslao & Associates Inc., Mr. Cezar Consing of Ayala Corporation and the Benilde Board of Trustees, Br. Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez FSC, and College leaders. The campus rises at L. Celerio and A. Veneracion Streets, envisioned as “a new generation school in a new generation city.”

5 Major Wins for Benilde at GDAP Game On Competition

Congratulations to our Benilde Game Design and Development students for winning 5 of the 7 major awards in the Student Category of the Game On Competition by Game Developers Association of the Philippines – GDAP. Benilde won the following awards: Game of the Year, Best Game Design, Best in Narrative, Best Desktop Game and Innovation Award.

Waste to Worth: Benilde Collects 3,232 kg of Recyclables in October 2025

The Center for Built Environment and Logistics (CBEL) continues to spearhead Benilde’s Waste to Worth initiative, transforming campus recyclables into tangible support for the College’s sustainability programs. In October 2025 alone, CBEL recorded 3,232 kilograms of segregated recyclables, generating ₱9,542.00 in sales.

Benildeans are encouraged to bring recyclables to the designated drop‑off points every first Friday of the month:

  • Taft Campus: MFC Gate
  • D+A Campus: Basement Parking, Muñoz Gate
  • AKIC Campus: Estrada Gate
  • Atrium Campus: Basement Parking near the Exit Ramp

Benilde Kicks Off Christmas with Tree Lighting and Opening Mass

The Christmas season officially started in Benilde last November 19, 2025 as #EXTRO2025 kicked off with an Opening Mass and Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at the Design + Arts Campus. EXTRO 2025 runs from November 19 – December 17, 2025, featuring various activities for the Community such as bazaars, public concerts, thanksgiving mass, parades, and more.

Benilde Blazers Battle Perpetual Help for NCAA Third Place

The Blazers face the Altas on December 13, 8:00 AM at Smart Araneta Coliseum in the NCAA Men’s Basketball third‑place playoff. Coming off a strong showing against the San Beda Red Lions in their semifinal Game 3 last December 7, the team is ready to fight for a podium finish.

    • HANDOG BENILDYANO 2025 is the Benilde Center for Social Action’s annual Christmas gift-giving tradition and a Benildean initiative rooted in gratitude and community. Each year, we gather donations from students and associates to prepare special gifts for our 284 hardworking Ates and Kuyas—our security guards, maintenance staff, and housekeeping personnel who quietly but tirelessly keep our campus safe and lively every day.
    • The Belen Festival 2025 theme, “Guided by the Star of Hope,” invites us to rediscover the light that unites and inspires us. Just as the Star of Bethlehem led the Magi to the humble birth of Christ, we too are called to journey together with hope—finding direction, strength, and renewed purpose even amid life’s uncertainties. Let us follow the guiding star and celebrate the spirit of faith, community, and compassion on 5 December 2025, Friday at the Benilde Covered Court.
  • Center for Partnership Advancement
    • All students, associates, and interested parties are invited to participate in the upcoming Campus Christmas Bazaar, which will be held from December 1 to 11, 2025, at the Greenway Square, Taft Campus, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Applications from interested participants will be accepted until November 26, 2025. Participants will be assigned to two batches: Batch 1: December 1–4, 2025 and Batch 2: December 9–11, 2025.
  • Information Systems and Technology Office
    • We are gradually reinstating our password expiration policy, which requires users to update their passwords every four (4) months.  Regular password updates protect your access to our academic systems and personal information from unauthorized use. Starting today, you may receive an email from Benilde Account Notification (noreply-notif@benilde.edu.ph)prompting you to change your password.  Please follow the instructions in the message to update your password promptly.
  • Innovation Office 
    • The Be-Heard Project that we know of is now extended to The Atrium Campus. Follow these simple steps: SNAP IT: Take a photo of the concern; SCAN IT: Look for printed posters near the area with QR codes and location tags. Scan the QR code, log in using your Benilde email; SAY IT: Report your valid concern by typing a message or uploading the image; SEND IT:  Submit your concern. You will receive a reference code to track your report.
  • Center for Lasallian Ministry
    • Everyone is invited to the Advent Recollection with the theme, “In Waiting, Hope Begins to Breathe,” on December 9, 2025, Tuesday, at the Chapel of the Resurrection, Taft Campus.
    • “Isang Laruan, Isang Ngiti, Handog Saya Ngayong Pasko”, a Benildean Christmas Drive for the Children of our Barangay Partner Communities. To help us bring joy and hope to children this Christmas season, we invite the Benildean community to share in our mission by donating toys. Drop-off period of donations is from November 20 to December 12.
  • School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies
    • The School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) extends its deepest appreciation to everyone who joined and supported the 31st Deaf Festival held last November 19–22. Your engagement, cooperation, and enthusiasm greatly contributed to the success of this year’s celebration.
  • Digital Xperience Office
    • Extending our deepest gratitude to all our amazing event partners who made the IGNITE: Lighting the Path to Digital Transformation launch last November 20 truly memorable and impactful.
  • Center for Student Life
    • The application for Graduation Special Awards for the 1st Term, AY 2025-2026 Commencement Exercises scheduled for March 2026, is now open. The College recognizes graduating students (leaders, artists, journalists, athletes, and volunteers) who have meritorious achievements in extra- and co-curricular activities.
    • Today is the start of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW). The 18-day Campaign to End-VAW is observed nationwide every November 25 to December 12, as mandated by Proclamation 1172 s. 2006. This campaign urges all sectors of the country to take action in ending gender-based violence.
