Placement International Partnership Expands Global Luxury Pathways to Benildeans

30 April 2026

Benilde School of Hospitality, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM) has opened new doors for its students and alumni through a partnership with Placement International. The agreement gives Benildeans access to internships and training programs at luxury properties in Europe, Thailand, and the United States.

Students will gain hands‑on experience at destinations such as The Ritz‑Carlton Bacara in California, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Hawaii, and the Riviera Dining Group in Miami. Placement International also provides support services including CV preparation, interview coaching, visa processing, housing assistance, and emergency support.

The partnership was formalized on April 13 at Café Romançon, Hotel Benilde. Present at the signing were Thomas Riveyran, CEO of Placement International, and Sherrinah Cuenca, Executive for Business and Partnership Development. Representing Benilde were Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Lacson and SHRIM Dean Marie Castro.

For students of the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Luxury Management, the partnership is a direct extension of their classroom training in premium service. At the same time, hospitality and culinary students across SHRIM, as well as alumni, can also take part in these international placements and benefit from the support services provided by Placement International.

Employability has been a consistent focus for SHRIM. The School recently launched microcredentialing to help Benildeans earn specialized certifications that boost career readiness. It also partnered with Nestlé to provide immersive learning and inclusive employment opportunities locally. The new collaboration with Placement International adds an international dimension, giving students and alumni the chance to practice premium service in luxury hospitality settings abroad.

Other SHRIM programs continue to deliver their own premium‑level experiences. The Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program offers students the Cabin Service Trainer, which simulates the standards of premium travel. The Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management program provides global exposure through Vatel’s Marco Polo exchange program. Each program gives Benildeans its own pathway to top‑tier service education.
