The Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) program is a business course that emphasizes the use of statistical analysis and models, computing tools, and the authoring of creative and relevant Management Information reports that will help business users in the decision-making process. Understanding the business’ processes and converting the data collected from day-to-day operations into information are among the major areas of study.

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is the first and currently the only school in the country that offers BSBA-BIA as a Bachelor’s degree program.

The program is for those students who want to become a Data Analyst. It is for students who will undergo the end-to-end data analysis process from understanding the business requirements, identifying the problem, gathering data, exploring big data, studying trends and patterns, making predictions, and prescribing solutions with the use of analytical tools.

The student graduates of BIA can look forward to a rewarding career in Business and IT in both local and global markets.

This course is for you if you want to explore the world of big data and use it to study trends and patterns, and make predictions with the use of Analytical tools. You will learn to:

  • demonstrate technical and analytical skills by identifying, extracting, transforming, and visualizing data, and preparing data-based models for data-intensive problem solving and systematic discovery;
  • apply conceptual, quantitative modeling, and statistical analysis techniques to solve real-world business problems and articulate these solutions effectively;
  • conduct academic research to create new knowledge in multidisciplinary fields; and
  • work independently in a God-centered professional practice with excellence, integrity, creativity and innovation sensitive to inclusivity and social responsibility.
