REBAP RISE NCR 2025 Showcases Benilde’s Role in Shaping Ethical Real Estate Leaders

24 October 2025

Hotel Benilde buzzed with energy last October 5 as De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde hosted REBAP RISE NCR 2025, a regional summit organized by the Real Estate Brokers Association of the Philippines. The event brought together licensed brokers, educators, and aspiring professionals to explore how real estate can drive ethical leadership, community-building, and lifelong learning.

REBAP is the country’s largest professional organization for licensed real estate brokers, known for promoting ethical practice, continuing education, and community-centered development. For Benilde, partnering with REBAP means connecting students to a trusted network of practitioners, mentors, and industry leaders who help bridge classroom learning with real-world impact. Through REBAP RISE NCR 2025, Benilde and REBAP’s relationship grew stronger than ever.

Benilde’s Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management (BS-REM) program was front and center, with faculty and students actively joining breakout sessions, listing exchanges, and mentorship circles. In his welcome message, Chancellor Benhur Ong described real estate as more than a business. It’s a way to create spaces where communities thrive, businesses grow, and families find stability. That message captures the heart of the REM program, which blends business management, green building technology, and ethical practice to prepare students for careers in brokerage, property development, and public service.

The program welcomes a wide range of learners, from first-time college students to second-degree takers and working professionals. Those with relevant industry experience may also qualify through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), provided they meet CHED’s eligibility requirements. This flexibility makes BS-REM a strong choice for anyone looking to shift careers or formalize their expertise. The curriculum prepares students for licensure while building practical skills and a strong foundation in ethical decision-making.

Ten years in, the REM program continues to deliver results. Since 2015, Benilde has produced 80 licensed brokers and 49 licensed appraisers. Six graduates have placed among the top scorers in national licensure exams. To encourage excellence, the College offers performance-based incentives, including up to ₱200,000 for top-ranking graduates. These milestones reflect the program’s focus on results and its investment in student success.

Earlier this year, Sophia Stefanowitz finished the REM program with magna cum laude honors. Her story shows what’s possible when students bring purpose, discipline, and heart into their work. The program supports that growth by giving them space to explore, apply, and lead.

Learning at Benilde goes beyond the classroom. REM students take part in international competitions like CoreNet Global and ULI Hines. They also join global exposure trips and use tools like Adobe Creative Suite and a wide range of research databases to support their project work. For those with entrepreneurial goals, Benilde’s Hub of Innovation for Inclusion (HIFI-TBI) offers startup support through DOST funding, with a focus on inclusive ventures that serve broader communities.

The summit also sparked new ways for Benilde and REBAP to work together. Faculty encouraged seasoned brokers to consider teaching and mentoring within the REM program, bringing real-world experience into the classroom. Conversations also opened around designing REBAP-specific cohorts and exploring more flexible payment options for working professionals. These conversations laid the groundwork for new teaching roles, tailored learning paths, and stronger support systems for future REM students.
