SMITENSITY 2025 Showcases Business and Tech Learning Beyond the Classroom

31 July 2025

SMITensity 2025 brought together students from the School of Management and Information Technology for a week of learning, collaboration, and industry engagement. Held from July 8 to 12 at The Atrium@Benilde Campus, the event focused on progress, innovation, and hands-on experience in business and tech.

The week kicked off with a lively opening ceremony at the Atrium, where students, faculty, and staff gathered to launch the festivities. The program unveiled a full lineup of activities organized by student groups across all SMIT clusters. Energizing performances and inspiring messages set the tone for a week built around leadership and teamwork.

Throughout the event, students had the chance to connect with professionals and learn from real-world experiences. The Industry Expert Hour featured speakers from human resources, marketing, and real estate, fields closely tied to SMIT programs like Human Resource Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, and Real Estate Management. Meanwhile, the ACIverse Innovation Talk offered tailored sessions for each ACI program, linking tracks such as Business Intelligence and Analytics, Cybersecurity, Game Design and Development, Business Solutions and Applications, and Information Systems to current trends in tech and data.

Other events like Scaling Heights and People’s Gold encouraged students to explore global entrepreneurship and social impact, the core themes of Export and Global Business Management and Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Competitions like STAT-TREK 2025, HR Case Challenge, MarketShift, Design Jam, Spring Overflow, and ReQuest Mode pushed students to think critically, plan strategically, and get creative. These are the skills they’ve been honing across SMIT’s business and tech programs.

The final day celebrated student achievements and community spirit. Winners from the week’s challenges were recognized on stage by SMIT Dean Joana Diñoso and faculty members. Dr. Catherine Mojado, Associate Dean of the ACI cluster, shared a heartfelt message of appreciation. The closing party wrapped up the week with energy, laughter, and a strong sense of connection.

The Marketing Management program set the tone earlier this month by hosting the Philippine Marketing Association’s Fourth General Membership Meeting. The event challenged conventional marketing habits and provided students with direct exposure to industry leaders and evolving customer-centric strategies. Building on this momentum, SMITensity 2025 showcased how learning at Benilde extends far beyond the classroom. Through engagement with professionals, real-world problem solving, and meaningful relationship building, students strengthened their readiness for the future. Events like these bring industry insights to life and highlight the Benildean Community’s commitment to applied learning.
