SHRIM elevates its offerings with the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Luxury Management (BS-HLM), previously known as the Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management–Hospitality Management Track.

The transition to BS-HLM reflects the Institution’s strategic response to the evolving hospitality industry, which increasingly requires expertise in luxury management alongside traditional hospitality principles. The industry is shifting towards luxury management due to changing consumer preferences and market dynamics. The BS-HLM program aligns with current industry trends and equips students with specialized skills and knowledge essential for success in luxury hospitality. It emphasizes traditional hotel and restaurant management as well as luxury brand management, premium service delivery, and experiential luxury experiences.

Renaming the program and updating its curriculum distinguishes the College as a leader in luxury hospitality education in the country, enhancing its reputation as the premier school for students seeking high-quality education in hospitality management with industry-practicing faculty members.

Benilde features industry-standard facilities supporting its diverse programs, including technology-enhanced lecture rooms, two advanced computer labs equipped with Oracle OPERA Property Management Systems, and Micros Fidelio Materials Control (MC). Additionally, the College offers access to Shiji Infrasys Point-of-Sale Systems, ten specialized kitchen laboratories, a dedicated beverage training room, function halls, a demonstration kitchen, a medical service facility, and the Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resource. Benilde also utilizes BigSky, an advanced learning management system for dynamic course delivery across its academic offerings.

To complement its pedagogical approach integrating theory with hands-on experience, the program utilizes various operational training units, including Hotel Benilde, a 49-room hotel; Vatel Restaurant Manila, an upscale French dining establishment; Chef’s Station, a cafeteria unit at AKIC Campus; and Vatel Cafe, a vibrant gastronomic hub offering casual dining experiences. Current laboratories are undergoing enhancements, with plans for additional facilities at the Atrium Campus underway.

Benilde’s School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management maintains partnerships with prestigious institutions and brands such as the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM) in collaboration with the Emirate luxury hotel chain Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts in Dubai, Louis Vuitton, Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners (ICIF) Hospitality Management Program, International Trainee Network (ITN), Pacific Link Canada (PLC), NSCC Canada, and Amanpulo Luxury Beach Resorts in Palawan, among other luxury properties.

True to the Benildean tradition of continuously innovating its programs, Benilde has transformed the Culinary Arts track into the standalone Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts Management (BS-CAM) program in response to the rising demand for specialized culinary management skills. BS-CAM has commenced enrollment for the academic year 2023-2024.

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Luxury Management program will open its doors to first-year college students in the First Term of AY 2024-2025, and classes will begin in August 2024.
