BENHUR ONG
Chancellor
Benhur is known in the Community to be an energetic educator and administrator, and brings a wealth of leadership experience and a passion for positive change. He has been with the College for over 20 years starting as a faculty member, chairperson, Dean of the School of Management and Information Technology, Vice Chancellor for Administration and Chief Infrastructure and Construction Management Officer. Benhur was instrumental in introducing innovative courses such as the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Major in Game Design and Development, a first in Philippine education. He also implemented cost reduction projects in the operations of the campuses and ensured the completion of the Atrium@Benilde and the Benilde Sports and Dormitory Complex. He continues to serve as the Chairperson of the Technical Committee for Hospitality Management and Tourism Management and Member of the Technical Panel for Business Management Education of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
ANGELO MARCO LACSON
Vice Chancellor for Academics
Angelo has been with the College since 2002 and brings with him an in-depth understanding of academics, academic services, and the aspect of enterprise in an organization. He previously served as Chairperson of the International Hospitality Management Program and then Dean of the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, after which he was appointed as Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academics. While he was Dean, he championed internationalization through strengthening academic linkages, promoting faculty and student mobility, participating in international student competitions, and partnering with local and international organizations such as Vatel International Business School; Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners; Italian Food Style Educate; Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management; International Trainee Network (ITN); Odyssey International Exchange; Kanazawa University; Bethlehem University, Toyama College of Business and Information Technology, among others. As Special Assistant to the VCA, he led activities to operationalize strategic initiatives and led the formulation of policies, standards, and guidelines for office operations, plantilla preparation, new program proposals, and program evaluation.
MA. VERONICA TEMPLO-PEREZ
Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life
Nicky has 20 years of experience in teaching, volunteerism, and administration. She served as the Head of the Office for Deaf Esteem and Formation, then Dean of the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies, and was concurrently the Director for St. Brother Jaime Hilario Institute. She was then appointed as the Director for the Center for Inclusive Education. She was also a part of the organizations and key stakeholders that pushed for the passing of the Filipino Sign Language Law of 2018. She is an excellent communicator and a leader who encourages dialogue and collaboration with students, parents, and various members of the Community. At present, she continues her work as an FSL interpreter, and is a strong advocate of diversity and inclusion both in the work and school setting. She is well-versed in Lasallian Spirituality and Formation and believes in the role that volunteerism plays in community and nation-building.
The College and the De La Salle Brothers are truly grateful to outgoing administrators Bob, Onyoy and Neil.
ROBERT TANG
Bob achieved significant accomplishments for Benilde in his six years as Chancellor. He had been instrumental in establishing Benilde Antipolo, by leading the integration of the Tertiary Education Unit of La Salle College Antipolo with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in 2015. He and his team had worked together to elevate the role of the Human Resources, now People and Organizational Development Office. Advancing Benilde through reorganization and continuous process improvement has paved the way for the College to give emphasis to the big role of technology and establish the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Digital Technology. It is also through Bob’s leadership that the College established the Benilde Senior High School.
GERONIO ULAYAO
It was in Onyoy’s tenure that the College was granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in September 2019. His leadership ensured that Benilde maintained Centers of Excellence by CHED and PAASCU accreditations. When the country shifted its Basic Education curriculum to K-12, we were able to transition properly with his guidance. It was also during his time as Vice Chancellor when the College officially established the School for Diplomacy and Governance, paving new opportunities for our students.
NEIL PARIÑAS
Neil was instrumental in the reactivation of the parents’ association, the Benilde Parents-in-Action. He had represented the College in various research efforts which includes research for the Global Lasallian Network. He led various community activities especially the celebration of the 30th Founding Anniversary of the College. Neil, with his spirituality and character, also led the Community in continuing our mission during the pandemic through championing the Project Safe Shelter and Benilde Community Pantry.
