Expanded Internships, Microcredentials, and Industry Learning Opportunities Open Through FotomotoPH Partnership

06 October 2026

Students can look forward to more opportunities to learn from industry practitioners, build professional experience, and deepen their creative practice following Benilde’s partnership with FotomotoPH, a leading organization dedicated to promoting Philippine photography through exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, and community initiatives.

On October 1, Benilde and FotomotoPH signed a partnership that opens new opportunities for collaboration in photography education, industry engagement, research, and creative projects. The agreement creates pathways for students to connect with working professionals, gain hands-on experience, and participate in projects that engage with current practices in the field.

One of the key areas of collaboration is student internships. Qualified students from the AB Photography program may gain access to internship opportunities with FotomotoPH, giving them the chance to apply classroom learning in professional settings and build connections within the photography community.

The collaboration supports the AB Photography program’s emphasis on preparing students for different areas of photographic practice, from image production to professional engagement. Just last month, students participated in “Pixel to Paper,” a learning session conducted with Epson Philippines and Globis, Inc., where they explored color management, fine art printing, and digital imaging workflows. Through the partnership with Fotomoto PH, students will gain additional opportunities to work with photography professionals through internships, mentorship, exhibitions, and industry projects.

The partnership also opens opportunities for joint microcredential development in photography and related fields. These industry-informed learning experiences complement Benilde’s broader microcredential initiatives, including the recently CHED-recognized microcredentials offered across several academic programs. By completing microcredentials, AB Photography students can build expertise in specific areas of practice, strengthen their professional portfolios, and gain competencies that may be applied immediately in the workplace.

Students can also benefit from workshops, seminars, mentorship activities, and guest talks led by photographers, curators, artists, and creative professionals from FotomotoPH’s extensive network. These activities can bring current industry perspectives directly into the classroom and create more opportunities for conversation between students and practitioners.

Beyond the classroom, the partnership supports student-led projects, exhibitions, research initiatives, publications, and other collaborative undertakings. These projects can give students practical experience in developing creative work, working with mentors, and sharing their work with wider audiences.

The agreement also encourages curriculum consultation and knowledge-sharing between the two institutions. Through ongoing conversations with industry practitioners, Benilde can continue exploring ways to keep its programs connected to developments in photography and visual storytelling.

Founded by photographers, curators, writers, and creative professionals, FotomotoPH promotes Philippine photography through exhibitions, public programs, special projects, and educational initiatives across the country. The organization works with artists and communities to create spaces for learning, collaboration, and artistic exchange.
