With Bigger Shoes to Fill

James Andrew Baltazar has already started his classes as a first-year student of Benilde’s
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Management a few days before graduating from Benilde Senior High School with High Honors. He shares, “I am influenced by my parents’ field of work, which is the corporate industry, and I want to continue their legacy after I graduate college. This is why I chose the Accountancy and Business Management Strand during my two years at SHS.”

The Accountancy and Business Management strand provides students with strong fundamentals in International Business Management using modern systems and technologies. This strand is perfect for students like James, who are natural problem solvers for the purpose of wealth creation and enterprise. “Engaging and very interesting because of our teachers, the strand gave us the fundamentals for college. Last year, we were immersed as businessmen and women. We had capital and turned it into a business, whether with profit or not, we were able to experience it.”

“The transition from Benilde SHS to Benilde College is fairly easy,” James describes, “we have an express lane, very seamless and quick from the application, acceptance to enrollment.” Application Fee was waived for Benilde SHS students applying for admission into First-Year College. This special seamless application offer was included in the Express Lane for Benilde SHS Students Transitioning to College. Aside from the waived fee, slots are prioritized, a unique schedule is created, and fewer documents are needed for submission.

Benilde SHS students immerse in real-world learning experiences through modern and state-of-the-art facilities also used in the College programs. “I liked going to the learning center and the computer lab, which helped in our accounting courses,” James talks about his favorite areas during his SHS stay. The Br. Fidelis Leddy Learning Resource Center (CLR) is a multimedia library supporting the college’s unique educational philosophy. Its resources vary widely in format from conventional printed materials, such as books and periodicals, to other forms of stored media, like optical discs, electronic/digital materials, and online databases.

James also talks about inclusivity on the campus. “Benilde is inclusive, whatever your religion, identity, or kind of student you are. Benilde is very versatile; it’s flexible for those with extracurricular activities. Of course, I would recommend Benilde to incoming SHS students to choose the strand that correlates to their College course.”
