The Benildean Community celebrated Women’s Month this March under the leadership of the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life. With the theme Breaking Bias, Building Balance, the campaign offered exhibits, forums, training, and performances that encouraged dialogue and action across our campuses.
The celebration opened with an exhibit at the Atrium Lobby featuring creative works about the Safe Spaces Act. Barangay partners joined an online session on violence against women, while students and associates took part in self‑defense training. The SDEAS community staged a play about Deaf women’s journeys, showing how stories can inspire strength and connection.
Student leaders joined a workshop on gender‑responsive leadership, and the Carnival of Equality brought games and pledges to Greenway Square. Women educators gathered in EmpowerHer Circles to share experiences on leadership and compassion. A BookTalk featured writing by and about women, and another session focused on inclusion for students with specific learning needs. The month closed with Benildean Inclusion Stories shared online.
Women’s Month is observed around the world every March, anchored on International Women’s Day on March 8. It began with early movements for women’s rights and labor reforms, and today it continues as a global call for equality, dignity, and safe spaces. By joining this observance, Benilde contributes to the wider effort of upholding women’s rights and gender equality. The call now is to carry this spirit forward. Let us continue to practice fairness, respect, and inclusion in our classrooms, offices, and shared spaces, so that the values of Women’s Month live on every day.

SHRIM’s Tourism Management students organized the 50th Travel and Tourism Exposition last March 16 at the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater in Taft Campus. The event was led by Travelers in Progress (TRIP), the program’s home organization.
This year’s theme centered on Naga City. Students created digital campaigns that showed the city’s culture, food, and attractions. Their projects were part of TAGLAY: Digital Tourism Marketing Challenge, a competition that asked them to rebrand Naga City using online platforms.
The expo gave the Benildean Community a chance to see how students use creativity and technology to promote destinations. It showed how Naga City can be presented to travelers in fresh and engaging ways.
The Bucket List Family joined the event as special guests. Garrett and Jessica Gee, with their children Dorothy, Manilla, and Calihan, shared their journey as family travel journalists. They spoke about reaching the Philippines as their 100th country. Their presence mattered because it connected the student campaigns with a global audience and showed how Naga City can be part of a worldwide travel story.

CBEL’s ‘WASTE TO WORTH’ Program reports recyclables collected through source segregation across all campuses, with updates released on April 6 and March 13.
Funds generated will help support the College’s environmental sustainability programs.
CBEL promotes the reminder “Every watt counts,” highlighting how reducing individual energy use supports both environmental sustainability and economic savings.
The impact of small, consistent efforts grows when we act together, making everyday energy‑saving habits part of the solution:
Our College is committed to building a more sustainable campus by encouraging greener ways to move around. Each of us can help reduce our carbon footprint by choosing active transport like walking or cycling, taking public transportation with the added convenience of showers in our buildings for commuters, riding the dedicated shuttle buses including electric ones between campus areas, sharing rides through carpooling, and embracing small “green nudges” that inspire everyday positive choices. Together, these steps make a big difference.
Green Mobility Highlights (March 2026)
By recycling and turning waste into resources, practicing mindful energy use with our AC units, and embracing electric vehicles for greener mobility, the College shows how sustainability grows from everyday actions. Each of us has a role to play: sort recyclables, conserve energy, and choose cleaner transport. When we act together, we strengthen our community and lead by example in protecting the environment.
