Halfway through 2026, Benilde kept its momentum going with a month filled with achievements, partnerships, and meaningful milestones. June welcomed new collaborations with industry and academic institutions, celebrated outstanding performances in the Architecture Licensure Examination and the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, and expanded learning opportunities through new graduate programs and CHED-recognized microcredentials. Together with campus celebrations, student achievements, and community initiatives, these milestones reflected Benilde’s continued commitment to innovation, inclusion, and transformative education.
SHRIM signed a five‑year renewable agreement with PTC Aviation Training Center on June 17, 2026. The partnership gives Tourism Management students access to airline training simulations that mirror real service environments.
SHRIM signed a memorandum of agreement with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group on June 15, 2026, at Ayala Tower One in Makati. The partnership opens internship opportunities for Benilde students in Hong Kong and Makati, adding Mandarin Oriental to the College’s roster of global partners in luxury hospitality.



Benilde was present at the 19th Vatel International Convention held in Nantes, France, where directors from all 55 Vatel campuses around the world came together.
The global gathering, led by Vatel Group CEO Karine Sebban-Benzazon, was “dedicated to the sharing of ideas, exchanging perspectives, and enjoying the experience of shaping the future of the Vatel group together.”
Benilde was proudly represented by members of our Leadership Team, including: Brother-President, Br. Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez FSC; Vice Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson; and Dean of the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management (SHRIM) Dr. Marie Paz Castro.







MAFBEX 2026, the country’s premier gathering of iconic brands in the food and hospitality industry, featured a strong presence from SHRIM.
A major highlight of this year’s participation was the legacy booth, which showcased SHRIM’s 30 years of milestones as a leader in hospitality education. Visitors also witnessed Benilde students in action, demonstrating their skills and passion for the industry.
The event ran from June 10 to 14 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila and the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.
Team CATCOB of De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde officially received their plaque and awards at Microsoft after being named Champion of the Microsoft AI for Accessibility Hackathon held on June 11, 2026. Representing the country, Benilde, and SMIT-Analytics, Computing, and Information Technology (ACI) Cluster, the student innovators showcased their winning project Smartcane + Vision, an AI‑powered assistive technology designed to support persons with visual impairment.
The team is composed of Cianna Jenise Canlas (BSBA‑BIA), Dan Gabriel Romulo (BSCSEC), Ralph Angelo Raymundo (BSCSEC), Antoine Mikael Viñas (BS‑IS), and Philip Andrei Teves (BS‑IS), with Mr. Jacob Catayoc, Program Chairperson of BS Information Systems, serving as coach.

We are also proud that Benilde ranks as the Top 3 Performing School posting 98.55% Overall Passing Rate at the June 2026 Licensure Examination for Architects.

Interior Design students held their Portfolio Showcase from June 1 to 5, 2026 at the Design+Arts Campus.
This batch’s theme, Spatial Narratives: Designing Spaces for Living, featured proposals for residential, commercial, public, and other environments. Each project followed human‑centered thinking and solutions, highlighting the students’ sensitivity and responsiveness to how people experience spaces.
The Commission on Higher Education has approved 13 for‑credit microcredentials for De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. Starting Academic Year 2026-2027, students in Architecture, Real Estate Management, and Hospitality and Luxury Management can earn professional certificates while completing their degrees.
The College was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) during its 32nd Anniversary Celebration on June 10, 2026 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City. The award honored Benilde’s contributions to lifelong learning and inclusive higher education through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).






On June 1, 2026, the Music Production program officially unveiled its brand-new Acoustic Pods and launched MUSIKApihan at the 6/F of the Design + Arts Campus.
Benilde is proud to be the very first school in the country to house a creator’s facility of this kind specifically dedicated for students’ music creation.
Alongside the already established Benilde Music Fridays and Acoustic Wednesdays, these new spaces and the MUSIKApihan program aim to be spaces like no other for cultivating the vibrant musicality and creativity in the Benildean Community.
Benilde is introducing the Master in Global Governance and Management (MGGM), a new master’s degree in global governance and leadership designed to prepare that new generation of leaders. The program is a joint undertaking of the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT) and the School of Diplomacy and Governance (SDG). While it is formally housed under SMIT, it carries the imprint of both schools, making it a rare convergence of two academic traditions.
On June 25, 2026, the Benilde Marketing Center hosted its Graduate in Focus session online via Zoom. The event introduced three graduate pathways under the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management.
Benilde makes history, ranking across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings. In just one year, we expanded our impact from 6 key areas in 2025 to all 17 SDGs in 2026. That is growth like no other.
Benilde is one of the 27 higher education institutions (HEIs) from the National Capital Region recognized in the THE Impact Rankings 2026, the highest number of ranked HEIs among all regions in the Philippines.
The 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings evaluate over 1,600 universities worldwide based on their commitment and implementation of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On June 5, 2026, Benilde Scholars gathered at the Sports and Dorm Complex (SDC) for INFUSE 2026, organized by the Benildean Scholars Association (BSA). This year’s celebration carried the theme “Keep the Fire Burning: Empowering the Next Generation of Benildean Scholars.”
Highlights of the day included inspirational talks from Benildean achievers. Champion wushu artist Agatha Wong shared her journey of balancing academics with athletic discipline, while multi‑hyphenate actor Alexander Xian Lim‑Uy spoke about defying limits and navigating life transitions.
Benilde Antipolo and SM Foundation, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Agreement on June 18, 2026 at Vatel Manila in The Atrium@Benilde. The partnership opens more scholarship opportunities for Filipino students and builds on both institutions’ shared commitment to accessible education.
On June 8, 2026, the College signed a five year Memorandum of Understanding with Miriam College at the MC Art Gallery in Quezon City. The agreement sets a shared direction for transformative education that values inclusivity and innovation.
The College held the Naming Rights Ceremony for the David M. Consunji Ideation Room, honoring the visionary builder and businessman whose legacy continues to shape our nation.
The ceremony was graced by Benilde Leadership Team including Brother-President Edmundo “Dodo” Fernandez FSC, Chancellor Benhur Ong, Vice President for Administration and Innovation Michael “Butch” Tecson III, and Vice President for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson.

In his speech, President & CEO Jorge expressed his gratitude, “on behalf of the Consunji family, thank you for this incredible privilege of naming the space after our grandfather…this is not an ordinary classroom… it is a space designed for thinking not just outside but above the box..to breaking the rules constructively, and learning how to build your dreams ethically.”
Congratulations, Usec. Stanley Ng, on your appointment as Undersecretary of the Department of Tourism (DOT)!
Captain Ng is an alumnus of the Benilde Computer Applications program, and has since carved out an outstanding career in the aviation and corporate sectors.
Currently, he continues to give back to his alma mater as a valued member of the Board of Advisers for the BS Tourism Management program.
The Benilde Hub of Innovation (HiFi) hosted the Industry Forum on Digital Transformation in Construction on June 16, 2026. The event introduced AIMHI, a Mindanao‑grown startup led by women entrepreneurs, as the newest trailblazer from the Benilde HiFi incubation program.
For Ad Astra’s 2027 yearbook launch they partnered with Dulaang Filipino, and it was really a blast!
The Benildean Press Corps (BPC), under the Student Publications Unit (SPU), journeyed to Toronto, Canada to personally accept three Gold Quill Awards at the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) World Conference 2026, held from June 14 to 16.
The conference welcomed communication professionals from across the globe, with Benilde standing out as the only higher education institution from the Philippines among the 19 winning entries.





Benilde warmly welcomed Monster RX93.1 to its Design+Arts Campus where the first-ever Monster RX93.1’s Radio1 Live Auditions at the College were held.
Benildeans and aspirants from neighboring schools in the metro trooped to the Campus, eager for a shot at becoming the next fresh voices of Philippine FM radio.




On June 15, 2026, the Benildean Community gathered to commemorate the birth anniversary of Saint Benilde Romançon, born on June 14, 1805 in Thuret, France. The day began with a Mass Celebration at the Chapel of Saint Benilde in The Atrium@Benilde, followed by the recognition of Benildean Liturgical Ministers, the start of the Around Benilde in 60 Days program, the launch of the #BeLikeBenilde campaign, and a Campus Feast Fellowship.
The celebration also introduced the new names of the Benilde Contemplation Rooms: Aurillac at Taft Campus, Clermont at the Design+Arts Campus, Billom at The Atrium@Benilde, and Saugues at the Angelo King International Center Campus. The activities were organized by the Center for Lasallian Ministry.
De La Salle Brothers, Inc. and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde signed a Memorandum of Agreement on June 24, 2026 to formalize a shared payroll services arrangement. The partnership builds on Benilde’s expertise in human resource systems and supports the Lasallian network’s move toward more efficient administration.





On June 15, 2026, the Benildean Community came together at The Loop, 12/F, Design + Arts Campus for a simple Father’s Day salo‑salo. Faculty members and associates joined the gathering.
The event was organized by the People and Organization Development Office (PODO).
The Center for Built Environment and Logistics (CBEL) shared its latest recycling report, detailing the value generated from recyclable waste gathered as of June 2026.
As of June for the Academic Year 2025–2026, a total of 26,080.50 kilograms of recyclables were collected, generating ₱68,220.50 in sales. In June alone, the collection reached 2,186 kilograms, with sales amounting to ₱6,545.
Funds raised through the program will continue to support the College’s environmental sustainability initiatives. CBEL encourages the community to bring recyclable donations to designated drop‑off points across campuses. From June 1 to 4, 2026, the Center for Emergency Management, Safety and Security (CEMSS) spearheaded this year’s Benilde PRIME (Promoting Resilience through Innovation and Managing Emergencies), the College’s annual program on safety and preparedness.
The 2026 edition featured Occupational First Aid Training sessions and information briefings, with resource speakers from partner agencies including the MMDA, MCDRRMO, OCD, BFP, Philippine Red Cross – Manila Chapter, PHIVOLCS, and the Caloocan Filipino‑Chinese Fire Prevention Association.
Congratulations to Juliana Mykhail Candelaria (Grade 12 | General Academic Strand) from Benilde Senior High School for winning the Bronze Medal at the 9th Asian Taekwondo Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia!
Held from May 19 to 26, 2026, the elite sporting event gathered the best athletes and delegations from across Asia to compete in recognized and freestyle forms.
On June 18, 2026, the NCAA Turnover Ceremony from Season 101 to Season 102 was held at the Philippine Columbian Association in Paco, Manila. The event formally passed hosting duties from Mapúa University to San Beda University for the upcoming season.
During the ceremony, Benilde was awarded the General Overall Championship title for NCAA Season 101, a distinction last achieved by the College in 2015 — 11 years ago. 🏆
Representing Benilde at the ceremony were Chancellor Benhur Ong, Center for Sports Development Director Stephen Fernandez, and Management Committee Representative to the NCAA Dax Castellano, who received the recognition on behalf of the College.
