The month saw graduates begin new chapters, Benildeans earn strong licensure examination results, and the College celebrate its sixth NCAA Overall Championship. New collaborations expanded opportunities in arts education, Deaf education, fashion, and business analytics, while new learning initiatives and internationalization efforts looked ahead to the coming academic year.

When Summa Cum Laude Corin Alaan walked onto the stage during the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Commencement Exercises for the Second Term of Academic Year 2025 to 2026, she carried a pen. “If there’s one thing that we, Benildeans, were taught, it’s that we always think outside the box,” she said before holding up the ordinary object that had quietly followed her throughout college.
Meet Paul Anthony Notorio, PhD, our very first graduate of Benilde’s Doctor of Philosophy in Tourism and Hospitality Management by Research program, the only one of its kind offered in the Philippines today. Dr. Paul finished 3 dissertations, a feat made possible with the mentorship he got from his panelists and adviser.
“If you are a faculty member or an industry professional who is into research and wants to pursue a doctorate degree, this program is definitely for you.”
Congratulations as well to SHRIM for this milestone achievement.
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, through the Fashion Design and Merchandising program, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Fashion Accessory Makers of the Philippines (FAMPH) at the Angelo King International Center (AKIC) Campus on July 17, 2026. The journey of an actor is often defined by the moments they choose to step completely outside their comfort zone. For Zar Donato, that leap has not only taken her across geographical borders but has also placed her at the forefront of a new chapter in her professional life.

The independent film scene is buzzing with energy, and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is right at the center of the excitement. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries and everyday life, digital transformation leader Joaquin “Jajo” Quintos IV left Benildean graduates with a challenge that reached beyond technology.
“The biggest battle of your generation, in a world enamored with Artificial Intelligence, is not the battle against AI, but it is that humanity, your humanity, our humanity, prevails,” he said during the College’s Commencement Exercises for the Second Term of Academic Year 2025 to 2026 on July 4, 2026.
Artificial intelligence is changing how people learn, create, and work. As more students and professionals use AI in their daily lives, questions about creativity, integrity, and responsible use have become part of the conversation. To explore these questions, the College held the AI Ethics Town Hall on campus on July 16, 2026.

17 July 2026 — Benilde Deaf School 5th Recognition Day | SY 2025-2026
The Benilde Deaf School gathered to celebrate its completers and awardees centered on the theme: “Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character.
In his inspirational speech, Br. Edmundo Fernandez FSC reminded everyone that leadership knows no age limit: “The seeds of leadership begin from the choices we make in the way we treat others and in how we use our gifts to make the lives of others better. Can someone at a young age become a leader? Yes, absolutely! Leadership begins when you encourage a classmate who is struggling, when you include someone who feels left out, when you work hard even when no one is watching, or when you have the courage to call out corruption and injustices.”
Congratulations to all our completers, awardees, teachers, associates and families.
