Building on Benilde’s commitment to becoming a more inclusive and gender-responsive institution, the People and Organization Development Office (PODO) participated in a three-day Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) held on April 13–15, 2026, at the Ideation Room of The Atrium Campus.
The training brought together PODO associates from different generations, creating space for meaningful conversations shaped by their diverse perspectives. This mix of backgrounds became one of the program’s greatest strengths, as participants found common ground while also challenging one another to reflect more deeply on gender, identity, and inclusion.
The program was facilitated by Ms. Nicole Trisha Panganiban, the College’s Institutional GAD Focal Person. Throughout the three days, participants engaged in a range of learning activities, from open discussions and experience-sharing to role plays and creative exercises that encouraged active participation and reflection. These sessions helped deepen their understanding of key gender concepts, including Gender and Development (GAD), SOGIESC, and the importance of avoiding harmful stereotypes in everyday interactions and language.
A key focus of the training was fostering a safer and more respectful workplace, one where all associates feel seen, valued, and protected. On the final day, each group presented reports outlining PODO’s initiatives and commitments to putting these values into action.
As frontliners of the organization, PODO associates are often the first point of contact for raising concerns, making gender sensitivity not just a skill, but a shared responsibility. Through this training, PODO reaffirms its role as a people-centered office committed to building a Benildean workplace grounded in dignity, empathy, and equity—where every associate is empowered to contribute and belong.

In observance of Earth Day 2026, the Benilde Center for Built Environment and Logistics (CBEL), in collaboration with Epcon Pest Management and Services, traveled to Taal, Batangas on April 20 for a day centered on faith, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.
This year’s Earth Day celebration, observed globally under the continuing call for environmental protection and sustainable action, encouraged communities and institutions to strengthen their commitment to caring for the planet and supporting local ecosystems.
Grounded in Lasallian-Benildean values of service and stewardship, the CBEL delegation began the day with a Holy Mass at the Minor Basilica of Saint Martin of Tours, commonly known as the Taal Basilica, followed by a visit to the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay.
Carrying the spirit of service throughout the activity, the group partnered with the Barangay Butong Local Government Unit in donating pre-loved items and fishing gear materials to the Samahang Mandaragat ng Butong. The initiative aimed to support the livelihood of local fisherfolk while strengthening ties with the surrounding community.
The Earth Day activity also included an educational visit to the NFRDI-Freshwater Fisheries Research and Development Center, where participants learned about freshwater food fish endemic to Taal Lake, including Maliputo (Caranx ignobilis) and Tawilis (Sardinella tawilis), two species that play a significant role in the area’s ecosystem and fisheries production.
Through the orientation and facility tour, participants gained deeper insight into the importance of sustainable fisheries and environmental conservation in supporting both biodiversity and local communities.
As environmental challenges continue to affect communities across the country, CBEL calls on the Benildean Community to move beyond awareness and take part in meaningful, community-driven efforts that promote sustainability and responsible stewardship of natural resources.
